MYFOXNY.COM - Jorge Posada, CC Sabathia, Bernie Williams, Tino Martinez. No it wasn't a Yankees all-star team coming together on Sunday, instead players, former players, and celebrities came together for a good cause.
The Celebrity Basebowl Tournament was held to benefit children and families affected by the medical condition of Craniosynostosis. Posada and his wife, Laura, hosted the event on Sunday.
"Our son, Jorge Luis, was diagnosed with Craniosynostosis when he was just ten days old. Craniosynostosis is a congenital or birth defect that causes an abnormally shaped skull and occurs in about 1 in every 2,000 births," said Laura Posada, President of the Jorge Posada Foundation.
"The Foundation is dedicated to creating public awareness, outreach and education about the importance of early diagnosis and treatment. We reach out to families in need, whose children are affected by Craniosynostosis, and provide assistance through our family support network and our partner medical centers."
