Cranio Kid May 2010

Congratulations to Travis Mizerny

Travis Michael Mizerny was born on June 30th 2009. I knew immediately that something was a little off with his head shape. I quickly questioned his appearance to his Dr.s and they insisted that his head shape was normal. I was very persistent and knew something was indeed not right so I decided to do my own research. It was then that I stumbled upon craniosynostosis while researching and quickly realized that coronal synostosis is what my son had. I told Travis' Dr. that we wanted x-rays done and that I surmised craniosynostosis. We took Travis for x-rays and a cat scan and it was confirmed that Travis had rt coronal synostosis. Travis had endoscopic surgery done when he was almost 5 months old at NY Presbyterian. Dr. Anderson was his neurosurgeon and we couldn't be more pleased with Travis' results. Travis is currently in helmet therapy now and will be for at least another 6 months.  My husband and I have noticed a remarkable difference so far and even his Dr. is amazed with how well Travis looks already. Hopefully my son can be an inspiration for many others, he sure has inspired his parents and has also made us extremely proud! I feel truly blessed and fall more in love with my beautiful cranio baby everyday
